Knossos

Heraklion is the capital of Crete and one of the Mediterranean region's most fascinating and vibrant cities.But before the capital of Crete was Knossos which has long been the largest and reigning city. Now there're ruins, which you can look at and wonder what was then the civilization. Palace of Minoan civilization was destroyed in 1700 BC and discovered  only in 1900! The most amazing thing for that period is the sewage system, which enveloped the whole palace, because even in the early 20th century sewage system on the island did not exist!!)))
